Texas has 'em on the left, VA had them on the center and D.C. had them on the right. I'm taking the last two off so I can get my car squared away here.
Anyone have tips for getting that sticky shit underneath the stickers off? I've been using a razor blade, Windex and paper towels, and would love to know if there's something better.

I've had success with dish soap.

Possibly Goo Gone or WD-40. Let is sit for 5 to 10 minutes before scraping/wiping off.

I peeled one of Dogapult's PA inspection stickers off his G35 with a combination of 60 degree air inside the car and -10 degree air outside.

Straight edged blade like you're using to get the bulk of the schmutz off; then a cloth soaked with Goo Gone. Then Windex. And cover the dashboard to keep the little paper boogers out of the defrost vent and to keep the Goo Gone off the dash itself...it smells rather like kerosene.

Goo-Gone will do the trick for sure. I've also used rubbing alcohol and it worked fine.

On Glass? Put some goof off on and let it sit, then get a razor blade and shave it off.

Okay, I didn't have Goo Gone after all, BUT I'll confirm the WD40 takes that shit right off. Thanks!

I just used some Goo Gone to remove some thick packing tape gunk on my driver's side mirror. Worked like a charm!

Glass cleaner and a razor blade scraper. Not something most people have probably. Go to your local inspection place and have one of the techs scrape it off with theirs.
You know, here in TX, we have 2 stickers. A registration, and inspection. Next year, were going to just the registration. But you still have to get the vehicle inspected before a new one is issued to you.

As a former inspector, the trick I used was to hose it down with foaming glass cleaner then scrape the goo with a razor blade. Comes right off.

Tiny bit of gasoline on a rag will work - but be careful. It's what we had to resort to to get this crap off a ZipCar I rented (never will use them again).

One of my favorite stories of all time involving gasoline was thus;
A tank crewman/wrench in occupied Italy after WW2 had a novel way of cleaning up and unfortunate crab infestations following visits to ladies of the night; he'd simply take a gasoline shower.
Cleaned it right up. (I think it was in a book by David Hackworth)

I used to inspect cars in NC when we still had stickers here. We used some foaming glass cleaner and a razor scraper. Spray the foam on and wait a minute then it comes right off.
As others have said, GooGone sorts of stuff work great too, but there is more cleanup. It's a bit of a pain to use a bare razor blade, but you can get a window scraper at any parts store for a few bucks and put the blade on it.

Mineral Spirits works better than Goo Gone. I have never tried WD40 but I will next time.

Check your pantry. Peanut Butter, creamy, is your friend. Ask me how I know.. Works wonders on all sorts of adhesive residue.

Glass cleaner and a razorblade has worked for me for years. Spray it on and scrape while wet. Have a paper towel handy to wipe off the glue boogers.

Mineral spirits will remove the adhesives used on most stickers and is a mild enough solvent that it shouldn't damage the base material. It's certainly safe to use on glass and acrylic. Before you try to remove a sticker, soak the sticker or residue with mineral spirits, let it sit for a bit and the sticker should just peel off. Then wipe up the adhesive residue, if there's any left, with a mineral spirits soaked rag. Mineral spirits are about the mildest solvent you can get in a hardware store. Strong enough to dissolve most pressure sensitive adhesives like you'd find on tape or stickers, but mild enough not to damage the substrate.

I just use a razor blade to remove the majority of it and then come tar and glue remover like Autofinesse ObliTARate. Fabtastic stuff.
